I’ve worked around writers most of my life, and after a career working in the music industry, magazine publishing and consumer events, I spent ten years running my own business as a marketing coach and content creator.
Like many other people, the pandemic impacted my work and made me think about a change of direction.
I realised we don’t have forever to follow our dreams. It was time to take my own writing seriously – and to support other women to do the same.

A regular writer’s date is an essential part of my creative life, and this week’s highlight was attending my neighbouring community venue Kindred for one of their Togetherness Festival events, ID8: 8 ideas for a better tomorrow.
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and the theme is ‘Move More’. Physical activity is definitely beneficial to our overall health, but the idea of ‘moving’ can also apply to taking care of our mental and emotional balance.
There's no doubt social media has it's downsides, but online platforms are also full of creative communities that offer fantastic opportunities for us to to share our ideas and connect with other female writers around the world.
