The SoA is the UK’s largest trade union for all types of writers, illustrators and literary translators. Members receive advice, contract vetting and exclusive offers, and the Society also runs events and campaigns on issues affecting authors.

Writers Guild of Great Britain

The WGGB is a trade union representing aspiring, emerging and professional writers in TV, film, theatre, radio, books, comedy, poetry, animation and video games. They lobby and campaign on behalf of writers and provide events, discounts, free training, contract vetting and a pension scheme.

The SWWJ supports, encourages and champions women writers and all writers, both in the UK and across the world. Members include both aspiring and published writers as well as journalists, poets, playwrights, editors and more.

The Crime Writers Association

The CWA supports, promotes and celebrates crime writing and writers of crime fiction and non-fiction. Full membership is available to published authors, and provisional membership for those who have a publishing contract but are not yet published. Non-UK authors are welcome.
