Welcome To The Write Resources

Hi, I’m Louise, a writer, content creator and freelance speaker comms support for book festivals.

My own creative journey has taken me on a very meandering path! In the early years of my career I was lucky to work with some amazingly talented people in the music industry, magazine publishing, exhibitions and events. After I left the corporate world, I spent ten years running my own business as a marketing coach for small businesses.

Like many people, my work was impacted during the pandemic and it made me think about a change of direction. I realised we don’t have forever to follow our dreams, and that it was time to take my own writing goals seriously.

I retrained as a Creative Coach and then sold my house, relocated to London and started a part-time Creative & Critical Writing MA at Birkbeck University. I loved the buzz of Bloomsbury and achieved good grades, but disappointingly the course lacked focus on the creative practice of writing and it was difficult to evaluate progress without adequate feedback from tutors.

So what next…?

I quit the MA at the end of my first year in favour of a more free-range experience that allowed me to dip in and out of a variety of courses and develop different aspects of my writing.

I went on to study with The Professional Writing Academy, The Irish Writers Centre and London’s City Lit, as well as attending London Book Fair, The Self Publishing Show and Hay House Writer’s Workshop. I’ve also added to my coaching training with Journaling and Narrative Therapy.

After meeting others who wanted to write but weren’t sure where to start, I launched The Write Resources to create a supportive and inspiring online space full of information, inspiration, ideas and advice to help you develop your writing skills, hone your craft, find your community and achieve your writing goals. Whether you’re a complete novice or a successfully published author, you’re very welcome here.
